About

The Not-So-Literary Heiresses (that's us!) are two sisters and their cousin who share a passion for reading. We are nieces of multi-awarded Filipino author Jose F. Lacaba and the late Eman Lacaba, who is considered the only poet warrior of the Philippines (and whose biopic is being released late this year!).

You would think being related to literary geniuses would sprinkle a little bit of writing talent and ambition our way, but one of us is a bank executive, another one is a broadcast tech on a cruise ship, and another one is in business school. The one thing we've all inherited is an undisputed love for books. This blog is our way of sharing our passion. More?

For book lovers, you can follow us through the different options below. For authors, if you would like a review of your book, please read our review policy first before sending in your request.

Amir's eReader Clean-Out Challenge! #COYER

Challenge accepted!

When I stumbled upon this challenge, I thought it's a great way of finally pushing myself to read the pile of Kindle Freebies (or nearly free) I've one-clicked (damn, that one click button >_<)  and NetGalley eARCs I've requested. So here I am, pushing and challenging myself with a list of books I'll be reading this month!

For more details, please go to the Clean out your E-Reader  Challenge page.

Kindle Freebies (or Nearly Free)

My goal is to read all of these...do you think I can do it? I sure hope so!
Hello November! Let the challenge begin!

  1. Isn't 1-click buying the absolute worst? It has lead me to so many books that I don't think about getting, I just do (as opposed to my journeys around book stores with books in hand while I decide if I really need them all).

Good luck getting through your list! It looks like you've got some great titles there :)

  2. I knoooow! It's just too easy to click a button instead of lining up and paying the cash register.

Thanks Wattle, I think I can do it! Here's to hoping :)

  3. I suffer from one-click-itis, too, and I don't think I'll ever be able to completely clean out my e-reader, but this challenge is still going to be a lot of fun :)

Nice to meet you Amir. Good luck with your challenge.

  6. Great challenge! I'm scared of joining these things because I'm afraid I won't get around to it with all the review backlog books going on at the moment.

  8. Thank you! That's another problem for me, sometimes I get drawn in by beautiful covers too. Beautiful cover + interesting blurb + free = in my kindle :)

I wanted to try a mermaid book, that's why I requested for Tangled Tides and I've read the author before so I wanted to find out if I'll enjoy her other works too.

  11. 1 click buying gets me into so much trouble (as recently as 30 minutes ago...) but hopefully we'll all make serious progress this month! Good luck :-)

  17. I see that the one-click button appears to be a universal issue!

  18. I've read 2 and DNF 1...will be reading GRB next! I've been hearing good things! :)

  19. Everybody's been pointing GRB out to me! Will read it next, I really liked Jay Asher's Thirteen Reasons Why and Rebel Blue's blurb reminded me of it.

  20. Especially when the book's on sale or free!

  21. I can't see them either. How strange.

  22. Hmmm..it's affiliate images linked to Amazon. I think next time I'll just save and link the old fashioned way. Strange indeed!
